SAVE THE CHILDREN NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE

Save the Children International Alliance

Children United Kingdom, Save the Children Sweden, Save
the Children USA and Save the Children International were
facilitated by the Boston Consulting Group, resulting in
the following being achieved regarding the way forward
for the formation of Save the Children South Africa
(SC SA).

• SC SA to be registered as a Section 21 Company and
with the Department of Social Development as a Non
Profit Organisation
• The governance structure was agreed on.
The ‘Indigenous Saves’ to have representation on both
the Group of Members as well as the Board.
• SC SA to be a wholly South African Organisation with a
South African Chairman of the Board and a South
African CEO. The process for identifying the Chairman
and the CEO to be initiated.
• A Country Leadership Team (CLT), made up of leaders
of the current Saves in SA, will drive the transition
process supported by a Fundraising Task Force and a
Programming Task Force, who will prepare, coordinate
and conduct specific activities within their assigned area.
• The CLT will discuss, review and agree on all major
decisions to be taken.
• A Change Manager to be appointed by Save the Children
International to assist in taking the identified process
forward.
